About the role: Reporting to the Nurse Manager, some of your duties for the role will include: Assisting patients, carers and family members in the delivery of well-defined dementia specialized activities Prompts patients attending activities program for toileting if advised through the care plan Matches activities to ‘pieces of me tool’ information, behaviours and responsiveness – (e.g. for patients with Alzheimer’s disease – simple, brief activities offered several times a day are the most effective and beneficial) Assists patients with decreased mobility and implementation of falls prevention measures Routine technical support functions at the level of setting up for nursing procedures, cleaning equipment and managing local stock levels About you: Proof of successful completion of first year Bachelor of Nursing and enrolment in second year in a recognised tertiary facility Effective verbal and written communication skills Working within the boundaries of their education and skill preparation, in the provision of nursing/midwifery care in the healthcare setting in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice Caring for patients with dementia Lifestyle or memory support role Please see the attached Role Description for additional information.
